Welcome
Home Foundation, Inc. was born from the
dream of a few people who had a vision of
a home where differently-abled children would
live together as a family and have the opportunity
to go to special education schools here in
Bacolod City. Principally, it is a home for
children who are hearing-impaired and live
outside the city. The residence also serves
as a center where all the Deaf can meet together.
Why
the Name "Welcome Home?"
In
our home all who wish to visit us are always
welcome. It is also a way of welcoming our
Deaf brothers and sisters back into the society.
For such a long time, they have been pitied
instead of being respected and accepted. In
"Welcome Home" we have Deaf
children and youth who help each other overcome
their handicap. Hence, Welcome Home is not
an institution but a true home. They do have
differences among themselves just like any
other family. But like any other family, before
retiring to bed at night, they come together
to pray that God will help them to be a true
Welcome Home Family.

hearing world, and with the guidance of God,
evolving into a center of education for the
Deaf in the Visayas and Mindanao. |

Our
mission is to enhance the curriculum for an
educational system for the Deaf in a building
equipped with state of the art technology,
and to come up with caring and competent professionals
who will work toward achieving this vision.
This system will
encompass Elementary and High School levels
as well as vocational course, giving special
consideration to adult education for unschooled
Deaf.
